This is an awesome recipe, really easy, the best apple cake recipe in the universe.

APPLE PIE RECIPE

For the crust:
6 ounces unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 ounces vegetable shortening, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
5 to 7 tablespoons applejack
12 ounces all-purpose flour, approximately 2 3/4 cups, plus extra for dusting
1 teaspoon table salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar

For the filling:

3 to 3 1/2 pounds apples, mixture of Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Braeburn and Golden Delicious, about 6 large apples

1/2 cup sugar, divided
3 tablespoons tapioca flour
2 tablespoons apple jelly
1 tablespoon apple cider
2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground grains of paradiseFor the crust:
Place the butter, shortening and applejack into the refrigerator for 1 hour.

In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, salt and sugar by pulsing 3 to 4 times. Add the butter and pulse 5 to 6 times until the texture looks mealy. Add the shortening and pulse another 3 to 4 times until incorporated.Remove the lid of the food processor and sprinkle in 5 tablespoons of the applejack. Replace the lid and pulse 5 times. Add more applejack as needed, and pulse again until the mixture holds together when squeezed. Weigh the dough and divide in half. Shape each half into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to overnight.

For the filling:

Peel and core the apples. Slice into 1/2-inch thick wedges. Toss all of the apples with 1/4 cup of the sugar, place in a colander set over a large bowl and allow to drain for 1 1/2 hours.Transfer the drained liquid to a small saucepan, place over medium heat and reduce to 2 tablespoons. Set aside to cool. Toss the apples with the remaining sugar, tapioca flour, jelly, cider, lime juice, salt and grains of paradise.

For assembling and baking the pie:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.Remove one disk of dough from the refrigerator. Place the dough onto a lightly floured piece of waxed paper. Lightly sprinkle the top of the dough with flour and roll out into a 12-inch circle. Place into a 9 1/2 to 10-inch tart pan that is 2-inches deep. Gently press the dough into the sides of the pan, crimping and trimming the edges as necessary. Set a pie bird in the center of the bottom of the pan.

Place the apples into the unbaked pie shell in concentric circles starting around the edges, working towards the center and forming a slight mound in the center of the pie. Pour over any liquid that remains in the bowl. Roll out the second pie dough as the first. Place this dough over the apples, pressing the pie bird through the top crust. Press together the edges of the dough around the rim of the pie. Brush the top crust with the reduced juice everywhere except around the edge of pie. Trim any excess dough. Place the pie on a half sheet pan lined with parchment paper and bake on the floor of the oven for 30 minutes. Transfer to the lower rack of the oven and continue to bake another 20 minutes or until the apples are cooked through but not mushy. Remove to a rack and cool a minimum of 4 hours or until almost room temperature.

While the internet is a great tool for learning and discovery, it also takes away most of my free time.

While the web gives you a sense of community, it also isolates you, in fron of your screen, at home, all alone.

while it gives you incredible laughing material, like pedobears, predator jokes, viral clips, and sex (and non sex videos, just like this sex video which is sort of SFW, and has no nudity, but the sheer WTF factor makes sure your jaw drops and cartoon question marks pop around your head; all this aside, the internet will not hug you when sad.

Your virtual friends (while some cross over to real life) are allways obscure people at best, or people just like you, and I can’t help but feeling that I need friends who are better than me (no offence guys, I love ya still).

But I guess the web is not all that bad.

Older friends tell me about the old days, when people had to work hard to discover old music, or underground stuff, and had to duplicate tapes, read zines, and what now.

Why did I break my arm? TRICK SKATEBOARDING.

I just had to perfect my flips. Right? WRONG!

I do great slides and rails, ya’ll know that, my equilibrium is second to none, but I can’t flip for shit.

Now, my mom is probably reading here, cos she likes to spy on me (hey mom!), so I’ll try to keep it clean, but I just have to mention Chris, cos he dared me, that douche bag, and I broke my fucking arm.

IT HURT LIKE HELL, of course I cried, but only for a few minutes.

So I’m doing a tre-flip* (see the clip), and I just tip over, and B A N G !

So what I Mostly do is sit around the house, mope a lot, moan, groan, scratch my ass, eat lots of Domino’s.

WHO DO I BLAME?

* Chris : he made me do it!

* TV & SK8 culture, they influenced me.

* My parents, for bringing me up in a way that made it hard for me to deal with peer preassure.

* MY STUPID SELF.

Dunno, I guess I blame myself for not being good enough, plus I fear that I’ll get the fears now.

Since I got the cast I used the board only for transportation, no showing off, and I’m kinda scared I’ll lose the touch and the nerves I had on the thing. Hope not.

Anyhow, this is what I was trying to do, the 360, here called the tre flip, it’s not that difficult, I just had a bad landing.

C&H always cheer me up, plus I think that the last post kinda helped me to clear out all the bad vibes I had dwelling inside me for a while now.

I went to a pretty awesome gig last night, but that’s not it. What I really wanna say is that I’m down, I’ve been shot through the heart, several times, by various people and coincidences.

Dunno where to go from here. Feel like my life is the slowest and saddest doom \ sludge song.

My parents are divorced for a long time now, but sometimes i still get touch about it, when other family oriented groups are gathering, and I feel as tough I have no family of my own.

My dad is living with his girlfriend for a long while now (she has a daughter, and i don’t care for both of them, tho they didn’t do anything to deserve this).

My mom’s boyfriend has two families (two divorces), and a few children I find boring.

I don’t really feel like a part of my family, and I sure don’t like other people’s families.

Guess I’ll have to work hard on having one of my own, cos otherwise I’ll end up like that cat lady on the Simpsons.

I feel pretty much bitter, depressed, and I don’t care for people reaching out. It’s self feeding, all this self abuse, self pity… I’ll have to overcome this.

Ranting about myself on my WP blog is stupid. I feel like a 13 y/o, or a some bored housewife.

Plus there’s some trouble with my “spouse”. But that’s been going for so long that I’m surprised that I’m surprised

I dunno where should I go from here, there’s a fork in the road, and all I wanna do is take that fork and eat till i fall into a food coma, and sleep for a few years.

You have to keep in mind that violence solves nothing. But sometimes you just have to protect yourself. Also remember that unlike in these clips, in real life the bully might return and stab you in the back while you least expect it. BE SMART, BE CAREFUL.

Try “Bullies” this might give you some ideas and answers.

And please, no popping caps in some one’s ass, that is just stupid, it might seem like a good way to end some one’s terror, but it does more damage than good. Violence DOES breed more violence, and some of you probably think that hitting a bully back might help. Well sometimes it does help. But please, be smart about anything you do.
